Dr Eric Chan is a local family GP and Managing Principal at Surry Hills Doctors. Raised in Sydney’s inner west, Eric is deeply committed to caring for the community he grew up in. He attended high school in Surry Hills and trained at RPA Hospital, holding postgraduate qualifications in family medicine, sports medicine, chronic care, men’s health, and sexual health.

Eric is a registered antenatal shared care practitioner and an accredited GP Supervisor, mentoring future doctors with a thoughtful and holistic approach to patient care. Known for being a great listener, he takes pride in helping patients navigate complex health issues with compassion and clarity.

Before returning to Sydney, Eric served with the Royal Australian Army Medical Corps and participated in humanitarian work in Nepal and the Solomon Islands—experiences that shaped his dedication to accessible, inclusive healthcare.

Outside of work, Eric is a proud husband to Cecilia and a devoted dad to Claire, Evie, and little Lenny. On weekends, you’ll often find them enjoying family time at Moore Park, exploring local trails, or cycling along one of Sydney’s scenic bike paths.
